Introduction and Welcome:
Let me first encourage you to search the Christian Counselors Directory in your city or town for professional help. Face to face counseling is usually the most effective help one can find.
For years I felt a need to help people find quality Christian Counseling. This very important information just seemed impossible to find at the time. In the summer of 1995, I realized the Internet provided huge opportunities to do the job. Thus, the Christian Counselors Directory was born.
That said, if you’ve been unable to find the right counseling match through our directory or some other means, or find traditional forms of counseling uncomfortable or inconvenient, I invite you to explore another possible option to meet your counseling needs.
Even though I functioned as a Christian Counselor for twenty-three years, and a Program Director in two mental health hospitals, the years of retirement and writing have not assuaged my desire to assist those in need. I’ve often been asked to counsel people, but felt I was unable to dedicate myself to the time and focus they deserved.
Internet technology has provided an opportunity for me to once again offer my training and experience as a counselor. I find this exciting! I can now work with clients from my home office -- and they, in the comfort and privacy of their own home.
Years ago I developed a counseling technique which I identify as Redemptive Therapy. Rather than an integration of Christian theology and psychology, it is more of a syncretism, creating a whole new approach to therapeutically addressing spiritual/psychological issues. Read More . . .

Technology:
I only interact with clients through Skype, encrypted secure email, and telephone, all of which are HIPAA compliant. Client privacy and confidentialty is secure. (If Skype is to be used, your computer will need to have video and audio capability, and download the free Skype software.)
Appointments:
I have limited myself to 10 individual counseling/life consulting sessions per week. Appointments may be arranged to mutual convenience between the hours of 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm, EDT/EST, Monday-Thursday. Each session lasts 50 minutes. If this is of interest to you please contact me by using the email address to the left, or by clicking HERE.
Fees:
Your first appointment/intake session is free. The purpose of this session is to determine how comfortable you are with me, and for me to determine that I can be of substantive service to you. It may take less than the usual 50 minutes. Once a course of action has been agreed upon, the usual fee is $100 per session. No one will be turned away for lack of ability to contribute the full amount, but we will mutually agree on fees at the first appointment. One session per week is reserved for those who can't contribute at all.
Bio:
So that you’re comfortable with my qualifications, here are my credentials:
After receiving a BA at a Christian university, I obtained an M.Div. (Master of Divinity) degree from Grace Theological Seminary. Several years and three kids later I earned a Ph.D. in counseling and administration from California Graduate School of Theology.
I’ve written two non-fiction books, (Tyndale House Publishers), Love Therapy, explaining my approach to psychotherapy, and Shadow of Sodom, a work addressing the social issue of homosexuality and an appropriate Christian response to it. A third clinical work is in preparation, Redemptive Therapy, combining the two previous works and expanding them to include knowledge gained in twenty-three years of professional counseling experience.
In recognition of my work, I was invited to contribute a chapter on "Love Therapy," in Gary Collin's (Chairman of the Board, American Association of Christian Counselors) work, Helping People Grow..
For four of the years during which we were growing an extremely busy Counseling Center in Fairfax, VA, my wife Bonnie and I, produced a daily one-hour call-in radio program entitled, "Linked with Love," covering the Washington, D.C. metroplex. This was in the pre-cellphone days when people would often stop their cars and use a telephone booth to call in to the program.
Bonnie and I now live in Marietta, Georgia, have six amazing kids between us (all grown up now) and ten even more amazing grandkids.
